Supplier Engagement

We set high standards for ourselves and everyone we work with to ensure that our products is produced responsibly.

To ensure compliance with our standards, we have processes in place for due diligence, transparency, and follow-up. As part of the Hultafors Group, we adhere to the group’s Code of Conduct (CoC). It’s based on international standards to ensure fair, safe, and healthy working conditions, as well as environmental responsibility across our entire supply chain.

Managing risks and negative impact

We work hard to limit risk and negative impact within our supply chain. We have the following measures in place.

Risk-evaluation on country level When selecting production countries, we evaluate the potential risks involved. Some markets come with a risk level that we are simply not prepared to take.

Nominating suppliers All our suppliers, including those of materials and components, are nominated. This gives us the necessary transparency and security from both due-diligence and chemical perspectives. We also have direct contact with our material suppliers, giving us an advantage when reducing climate impact in our supply chain.

Local operational teams Snickers Workwear has a local presence that speaks the language, providing constant insights from the factory floor.

Streamlined supply chain Our optimised supply chain enables us to keep close contact with our partners. This has proven to be fruitful, both from a risk perspective and when reducing emissions in our supply chain.

Grievance system We have a worldwide complaints system provided via Whistle B allowing anyone to report suspected misconduct within our supply chain.

Compliance

We have long track records with most of our suppliers, building partnerships through dialogue, transparency, and collaboration. Our suppliers adhere to the Hultafors Group’s Code of Conduct (CoC) and Restricted Substance List (RSL), developed to provide a non-negotiable requirement that apply to our entire product supply chain.

Chemical management

Our RSL helps us to comply with chemical legislation. It is based on European legislation, but our demands are stricter than the legislation stipulates. Additional control and transparency are achieved by only working with nominated suppliers for all materials and components used in our products.

Code of Conduct

Our CoC is the foundation for our business relationships and the basis for how we conduct factory performance evaluations. It’s based on international standards and defines the parameters for fair, safe, and healthy working conditions and environmental responsibility throughout our supply chain. For more information please see our complete Code of Conduct below.

Compliance follow-up

To make sure that our Code of Conduct (CoC) and Restricted Substance List (RSL) are followed by our suppliers, we have implemented the following measures.

Code of Conduct

  • Suppliers complying with a recognised code of social responsibility are preferred, such as ETI, BSCI, WRAP, SA 8000, ISO 26000/ISO 26001, SMETA (Sedex), STeP by OEKO-TEX® or similar.
  • We conduct third-party social audits in our review process.
  • Due diligence follow-up is conducted for garment producers, and material and component suppliers.
  • Local Snickers Workwear operational teams have a high presence in our supply chain.

Chemical management

  • We utilise the Chemicals Group within the Research Institute of Sweden (RISE) for an early forecast of chemical legislation.
  • We constantly revise our supply chain with the relevant updates in chemical legislation.
  • Suppliers acknowledging a chemical programme are preferred (OEKO-TEX®, Bluesign®, ZDHC, etc.).
  • We conduct chemical level spot checks on material and product in our annual review process.

Transparency & Risk Evaluation

Transparency is key when identifying and managing risk in our supply chain. We use the SaaS-based platform Worldfavor for supply chain transparency and due diligence. It supports our risk evaluation and when validating suppliers as ethical and compliant with our requirements. Worldfavor provides us with the following.

  • A process to identify risks in our supply chain.
  • Quantified data that enables us to act and provide remedies where necessary.
  • Ability to track and review results and improvements in our supply chain, and aggregate data.
  • Data collection for reporting our due-diligence procedures, risks, activities, and findings to concerned stakeholders.
