The Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action

A joint initiative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute towards a rapid transformation of the textile industry.

'' Snickers Workwear commits to 50% reduction of GHG emissions in scope 1 and 2 by 2030.''

The global apparel and textile industry produces a significant amount of greenhouse gas emissions and thereby contributes extensively to global warming. At Snickers Workwear, we believe that in many cases, by working together, the industry can achieve more and work faster than any individual brand or company. Therefore, our membership in the Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action (STICA) is an integral part of our continuous work to contribute to a more sustainable industry. Solving the climate crisis is a joint challenge, and by working together we can make real change.

Leading the way

STICA aims to support the fashion and textile industry in the Nordic region in an attempt to reduce its carbon footprint throughout the value chain, creating a platform for collaboration and knowledge-sharing and developing shared tools. Its goal is to lead the way and reduce greenhouse gases in line with the 1.5 °C pathway, as outlined by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Paris Agreement. STICA wants to ensure that the Nordic region does more than its share by becoming the first climate positive apparel and textile industry in the world, well before 2050. Among the members of STICA are a number of Sweden's leading textile companies.

Our part

As a market leader in workwear, we see it as our responsibility to be part of and drive development so that we, together with other companies, can work actively and concretely towards a more sustainable textile industry. Apart from set goal for GHG reductions in scope 1 and 2 we are assessing our impact and commitments for scope 3.
